Jammie (pronounced “Jam-ee,” like pajamas) is an 11-year-old dachshund with a heart full of love. This sweet boy adores cuddling on the couch, soaking up forehead rubs, and staying close to his people. He’ll happily sit at your feet asking for extra pets and comes running excitedly when called. One of the best things about Jammie is how devoted he is — he loves following his humans from room to room just to keep them company, and he’s always thrilled to greet you when you come home.

When he’s feeling playful, Jammie will dig a rope toy out of his basket and bring it over to start a game. He especially loves sturdy toys since destroying them is part of the fun for him! Bananas and carrots are among his favorite special treats, and when he gets especially excited, he’ll zoom happily around the room and sometimes grab the nearest toy or bed to chew on in celebration.

Jammie knows a few simple commands, including “sit” and “wait,” and he even knows how to boop a bell with his nose when he wants to go outside. He does have a sensitive side — loud noises like thunder or fireworks make him nervous, and he may bark when startled. Like many dachshunds, he also enjoys chasing squirrels and rabbits if given the chance.

Grooming can be a little challenging because he’s sensitive about his hind legs being touched, but he sits very nicely while having his beautiful ear hair trimmed.

Above all, Jammie is an affectionate, loyal companion who simply wants to love and be loved. He is the kind of dog who will make you smile every day and fill your home with warmth, companionship, and joy
