Marty is an 8 -1/2 year old strawberry blond dachshund who was an owner surrender and is in good health, he has quite the personality! He is currently being fostered in Connecticut and is doing well and is ready for adoption. He gets along well with other dogs and appears to be social in the pack. He has is housebroken and has not had any accidents in the house since being in foster care. He does like his space at times and does tend to snarl when he doesn’t want bothered - we have not seen this as aggression but we would recommend a home with no small children and someone who will understand Marty and give him the love he deserves. He does like the snuggle occasionally and is a sweet boy. Please complete an application if interested or contact us for more information.
Sammy is a 6 year old English Cream dachshund.
He is a standard size, weights about 20 lbs. He is a very sweet boy with his person, can not be with other dogs or cats. He does love his affection and of course, belly rubs. A woman would be the ideal situation for him. We are looking for someone that is possibly retired and be able to take him for walks. He will be a great companion to his person. He is a very smart boy. Must be your one and only for the rest of his life! Fenced in yard is a must!!
Furry Angels Dachshund Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit dachshund rescue organization in the New England area; primarily focusing on RI, MA, CT, NY, NH,VT and ME. We are always in need of volunteers, foster Homes and donations. We receive no grants -federal or state money - so we are completely self supporting. Therefore we rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of our friends and supporters to donate enough money so that we can provide the often necessary, sometimes very expensive, medical care, food, and necessities our rescue needs to ensure that our dogs are getting the best care possible.
Dyson is a 1 year old purebred wirehaired mini dachshund, weighs 9 lbs. Dyson is a very sweet and happy little boy with lots of energy. He was surrendered to FADR for having potty issues. He is not totally housetrained, we have made some progress, and he clearly wants to please. He is still a puppy, desperately needs stability, training, attention, and love. He had a rough start in life being passed around and lived in his crate a good part of his life to start.. He is good with other dogs, however we feel he would do better with 1 dog so someone will have the time to work with him. He loves walks and is good on a leash. He is super smart and loves to cuddle at the end of the day. He has a strong prey drive, will need a fenced in yard for sure!
We are looking for someone that is dachshund savvy, must know the breed and have time and patience.
The following dogs are currently being evaluated and will hopefully be available for adoption shortly.
